Some New Dr Organic Faves…

Dr Organic are always part of my beauty favourites because their stuff is simple, affordable and effective. Their ranges are SO insanely numerous and the choices are SO enormous that it can be a bit baffling walking into a Holland and Barrett’s, however.

I’ve got three current must-haves at the moment, which have seen me through from a very chilly spring into summer, i.e very sensitive and dehydrated skin into more oily, product-heavy skin.

Dr Organic Hemp Oil 24 Hr Rescue Cream

Hemp is a current wonder-ingredient, rich in omegas fatty acids. Drizzle it on your salad and put it in your moisturiser!

I’ve mainly used this as a day face cream under SPF, but it also goes on the elbows if there’s any left over. It’s just a brilliant moisturiser, no bells and whistles: it hasn’t got a fancy scent or packaging but it soothes my skin (there’s lots of aloe) and hydrates it really well. I also like the texture as it’s fairly thick but leaves no residue at all.

Best of all it’s only £8.99! Great for summer after a day in the sun or winter to protect skin.

Dr Organic Rose Otto Cleansing Milk

The smell of rose really helps relax me and uplift my mood, plus in skincare it’s very healing and helps ease red and inflamed skin.

It’s got a lovely velvety texture and I like to massage it in thoroughly, brush my teeth whilst letting the cocoa butter and oat kernel extract work their magic and then remove with my trusty konjac sponge (ps, konjac is pronounced ‘konyac’, I’ve been getting it wrong all along).

If you suffer with dry skin this is great (if it’s very dry then maybe remove with a cotton wool pad wetted with Avéne spray) as well as mature skin.

It’s only £8.99!

Dr Organic Virgin Olive Oil Hand and Nail Cream

I am a firm believer in the power of olive oil: all those holidays in Zakynthos with Theo persuaded me so. It always felt like eating it fed my hair, nails, skin, joints, while applying it as a make up remover or hair mask intensively nourished when used topically.

I find too many hand creams to be ineffective. They don’t work deeply enough and I develop quicks rapidly – as well as wrinkly hands!

I use this as a night cream and I saw a difference immediately, and definitely when used over a few months. I usually squeeze quite a lot into my hands then rub the extra on my elbows and knees: they all feel and look better for it.

It’s pretty big and once again, really fairly priced. If you have a Holland and Barrett loyalty card, btw, you really amass those points quickly.

It’s just £6.59 from Holland and Barrett!
