Moonbeam Cottages: The Perfect Getaway!

Now’s the time of year we start winding up for the last rush of Christmas work and looking forward to letting it all hang out over the holidays (well…I certainly do!). It’s also when we start thinking about booking breaks away and escaping the grey drear of winter.

I know exactly where you should head to! Whether you’re after a romantic break for two or a catch up with friends, Moonbeam Cottages in Boscastle are the perfect spot for you!

I’ve grown up holidaying Boscastle in Cornwall, and I’ve never got bored of the place. What makes it special? Quaint is an over-used word, but the small fishing town of Boscastle manages to balance the old-fashioned charm of tea rooms with the new-age, velvety wizardry that is uniquely Cornish. Have a cream tea (take my advice and have a whole one to yourself. Cornish clotted cream isn’t for sharing…) then pootle on down to the Museum of Witchcraft, which still sends a little chill down my spine! Walk along the river to the rugged cliffs, where you can admire the breathtaking views of the coast (and wave to the seals below). Finish everything off with a drink in the Cobweb, where I’ve been known to lose entire hours thanks to their very strong cider…

Moonbeam Cottages are in my favourite spot of all. It’s located in a lush valley, right by a sunken garden where butterlies and dragonflies flutter and enormous cats prowl.

catHuge cats, massive softies.

Many’s the time I’ve fallen asleep on this soft grass when the sun is shining following some very strong Pimms…

The cottages are luxurious, with underfloor heating and beautific, sun-drenched window seats for when you’re feeling like reading a book…

And a surround-sound cinema system with Sky for when you want to veg. There’s basically everything you want inside the cottages for comfort and luxury, and everything you want on the outside for getting back to nature and absorbing some of that fresh, unpolluted air (which always sends me into the deepest sleeps ever!)

Oh and check out the rainforest showers…Whenever I get to Boscastle, any skin complaints I have – from spots to dry skin – disappear! Plus there’s underfloor heating in the bathrooms, so the bane of cold feet after a toasty shower are vanished.

The mix of long, invigorating walks by the Cornish coast, cream teas in Boscastle and the luxury of these cottages makes it the perfect place for a getaway. I couln’t recommend anywhere better for leaving you rested, refreshed and recharged!
