#ModelCrushMonday: Albert Mordue
There was no #ModelCrushMonday last week because I was helping my friend as she had her first night home from the hospital after giving birth…And I think today’s #MCM would understand, as he’s a new father!
Albert Mordue was originally a builder from Boscastle (a tiny Cornish town where my parents’ best friends live!) who won Make Me A Supermodel. This was a shortlived modelling show on Channel 5 and was terribly exciting because it was my agency at the time, Select, doing the judging.
Albert was a curly-haired surfer-builder who sailed through the competition, not getting involved in the heavy drinking, bitching, snogging and crying that most of the others succumbed to.
That must have been about ten years ago and here he still is, getting lots of commercial work and can now add ‘Yogi’ to his name. Now I can touch my toes in a forward bend and I can do a nifty standing tree pose…But check this guy out!
We did quite a few jobs together and Albert was always pleasant, friendly, sweet and down-to-earth, fairly non-plussed about the drama of fashion and respectful to everyone he meets. (Although he does always forget my name, even though we were ‘husband and wife’ in one job for Cartier!)
Albert’s Instagram is full of the joys or fatherhood, husbandhood, Yoga and life in general, no artifice and no pretentions and that personality is why he’s today’s #ModelCrushMonday!
