BEAUTY TUESDAY! My New York Face Rescuers
My NY trip was a mad dash of a 48 hours, with two long haul flights, a hell of a lot of rushing round the city and one or two Old Fashioneds thrown in for good measure.
I needed to look after my skin and be well-presented, ready for whatever was round the corner be that a hardcore workout, a surprise helicopter trip or a visit to a big New York model agency.
I also only took hand luggage as it was such a short trip so everything had to be under 100ml and fit in the little plastic bag. Here’s what rescued me:
Verso Deep Hydrating Face Mask
I realise I probably put this on MTF every week but they are so blimming amazing! I went to my room and showered and put the mask on, then unpacked my (3) belongings while it worked away. Stressed, tired, dehydrated flight skin was instantly better but where the magic really lies with these is that the next day you wake up to a significant difference, and the day after that you REALLY see the radiance boost so it kept working hard throughout the 48 hours. Worth every penny.

Pixi illuminating Tint and Conceal SPF 20
What I loved about this is that I could use the Lavera on my face and body as my base moisturiser, which doesn’t have SPF, and instead of taking a separate SPF and separate foundation, I used this a 2-in-1. There’s sun protection, extra hydration and it gives great, natural coverage. I just love that you can put the tiniest amount on and see the difference, or layer it up a bit for more coverage – then there’s the concealer that perfectly matches colour-wise.
I even had this on when I did an exercise class (seeing as the pics will be going on the Evening Standard site…) and didn’t get clogged pores. I’ve been using this for about 6 years and it’s unsurpassed imo.
Lavera Face and Body
I wrote about this the other day and just wanted to remind you really!
The 25ml tin is only £2 and it was the perfect amount for a short weekend away. I’ve been using this for a few weeks and Theo, this morning, said, “You feel soft like a lady,” which can only be a good thing!
Pixi MultiBalm in Soft Strawberry, £12
If you don’t have a multibalm, you need one! Add it to cheeks for blusher, on eyelids for a subtle sheen and lips to tie them all together. You can keep adding to build up colour from super natural to quite a strong ‘look’. Do check out their light, bright pink one too (Watermelon Veil), which is instant youth! It also doesn’t have to go in the plastic toiletries bag as it’s solid and it’s handbag friendly.
There we have it! These got me looking and feeling human and took me, I’m not kidding, 3 minutes to do my whole face (if that).
